May Allah bless all oppressed nations with real freedom and may He grant us (Pakistanis) to feel to follow principles on which we got freedom. We have undoubtedly achieved Pakistan, and that too without bloody war, practically peacefully, by moral and intellectual force, and with the power of the pen, which is no less mighty than that of the sword and so our righteous cause has triumphed. Are we now going to besmear and tarnish this greatest achievement for which there is no parallel in the history of the world? Pakistan is now a fait accompli and it can never be undone, besides, it was the only just, honorable, and practical solution to the most complex constitutional problem of this great subcontinent. I can't believe you are 74  More like a grandfather figure to the youth of this era now. First of all, a very happy birthday to you. May you live a happy, healthy, and very long life, Ameen. When I say Ameen to that, My heart aches a little bit for you. I know that the foundation for your creation has been lost in all these years. We as a nation have failed you many times. We have let the fanatics take over our ideology who have hurt our minorities time and again. I know it must have hurt. It hurts us too. But I promise you that we are trying, we are trying to raise awareness. We are trying to have a dialogue along with the subject and we are no longer pushing it under the rug. We are trying to bring back the original narrative that resulted in your creation. We will have conversations with our kids and help them become more inclusive. We will try to educate our family members about inclusivity. The fact that we are now having a dialogue on the subject is an achievement in itself. I understand that It's not easy because the damage is extremely deep-rooted. We have a huge task ahead of us, but we are on the right track. I dream of a Pakistan that is inclusive and diverse in every sense of the words. Until then, please bear with us. To a beautiful and inclusive YOU.

I spent my last summer in Pakistan for the first time in 6 years, after moving to the UK, and got to witness the Independence day celebrations. It made me so emotional and brought back memories from my childhood when my dad used to take us for a drive at night around the canal and Mall road. We loved watching different art displays on the canal and lighting of the famous buildings on Mall road, especially eating Chaman ice cream on our way back. 😋.

When I first moved to the UK, I came to an English town where there aren’t many Muslims especially Pakistanis. I still remember my excitement when I saw a lady with a hijab coming towards me but she quickly turned away after hearing my answer to her question, “where are you from”. Like most ex-pats, I also feel emotional towards my country and for that reason, I put in extra effort to be the best version of myself, as I’m representing my country here. I believe that one of the most important things we can do, whilst living away from our country, is by being a great ambassador. ⁣ I also try to buy from small businesses in Pakistan in order to support them and give back to my people. Today I thought to share the sunnah dua stickers I have put around my house.
